Blade Runner, Movie, Science Fiction Classic, Timeless 1982 Ridley Scott. In the early 21st century, this is in a dystopian future, in 2019, a large Tirell Corporation, headquartered in two pyramid-shaped Towers. It develops Robots, which are more agile and stronger and much smarter than human beings. They are known as Replicants. They are used as slaves in the colonization and exploration of other planets. But when a group of more evolved robots riot in an off-Earth colony, stealing a spaceship and coming to Earth, this incident makes all Replicants illegal on Earth, under penalty of death. Since then, officers from an elite squad, known as the Blade Runner, have orders to shoot and kill Replicants found on Earth, but such an act is called Retirement or Removal. The fugitives of the rebellion are from the "Nexus 6" stage, Replicants, sophisticated androids, they are virtually identical to humans, but superior in almost everything. Their leader is Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer), the most advanced and intelligent of the group, Zhora (Joanna Cassidy), a trained assassin, Priss (Daryl Hannah), a pleasure model and Leon (Brion James), the impassive. The "Nexus 6" models, although designed without emotions, are advanced to develop them over years, including hate and anger. But, their useful life is only 4 years, because of their implanted memories, they cannot live anymore, because from that point on they are so intelligent that they tend to develop human emotions and feelings, with the audacity to consider themselves Human. And ex-Blade Runner Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) is in charge of hunting them down. The setting is Los Angeles, heavily industrialized, with people from all over the world in the same place, amply crowded, it rains constantly, the skies are always dark with dirt in the air, in the sky flying cars, giant zeppelins with advertisements, absurdly tall buildings of sizes unimaginable, advertising everywhere in 3D and other new technologies, giant billboards with moving faces and speakers, advertising Coca-Cola and other products. Dr. Tyrell implanted his niece's memories in Rachel, and she doesn't know she's a Replicant. Rachel goes to Deckard's apartment to tell him she is not a Replicant, Deckard explains how she was designed. And She becomes his passion. The "Nexus 6" Replicants rebelled and came to Earth to find their Creator, because they want to live longer than 4 years. They are after the Reptilian, Dr. Tyrrel, owner of the Tyrrel Corporation and Creator of all Replicants. Seminal film, inspired by older classics "Metropolis (1926) and "Things to Come" (1936), but with a comprehensive vision of the future, which has influenced science fiction films ever since. Its main legacies are: giant global corporations, environmental decay, overcrowding, technological progress at the top, poverty or slavery at the bottom - and, oddly enough, a film noir vision. Much of the Original comes from the story of Philip K. Dick's book "Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" of the most extraordinary worlds ever created in a film. It's fascinating how a film noir, a genre born in the 1940s, has such a huge impact on the future. Soundtrack by Vangelis. The death scene of Replicant Roy Batty played by Rutger Hauer is one of the most beautiful in the film. The Replicants in their pain and anger, for the growing existential horror of being preprogrammed to die in just a few years, are more in touch with the human condition than humans are. film influenced many science fiction movies, video games, anime and television series. Considered one of the best science fiction movies of all time. Film Noir details are everywhere: Rachel's shoulder pads, the striped shadows cast by the shutters, the atmosphere of defeat, dreary apartments, jazz in the background, reflected neon rain (glimmering in the window or in the eyes).
