Siouxsie-Sioux Muse Post Punk Influence in Rock Music Era. Susan Janet Ballion, dubbed that way because she didn't like cowboys, and honoring Director Vincent Price's film "Cry of the Banshee. Forming thus, she and friend Steve Severin the Band Siuoxsie and Banshees Pioneer, united gothic tones with world rhythms within a cool new romantic structure Musician, contralto voice, guitar, piano, bass and percussion, composer and music producer Post Punk was a movement that kept its roots in punk, but in a more introspective, poetic, minimalist and experimental way, it was the basis of all alternative rock, minimal style, more free, exploring elements of dub music (bass bass rifs), guitars with minimal sound (sometimes effects of reverberation) and repeated drums (4/4), influences from American funk, funk rock and studio experiments.With the Band, released 11 studio albums (1976-1996), "Hong Kong Garden", "Happy House", Peek -a-Boo", "Kiss Them for Me" and two singles. In 1981, Souix and drummer Budgie, formed a side project called The Creatures, released 4 studio albums and ended in 2005. She married Budgie in 1991 and split in 2007. She lives in France. She released singles with Morrisey in 1994 and also with Hector Zazou, John Cale (they toured the US together during the summer). In 2004 she started performing alone as Siuoxsie, her first solo album Mantaray was released in 2007. In 2013 she performed for the first time in five years at the Royal Festival Hall in London. Her music was welcomed by a variety of artists; Jeff Buckley, Tricky, Massive Attack, PJ Harvey, LCD Soundsystem, TV on the Radio. She became known as a teenager in the London punk rock scene for her glam, fetish and boundage outfits, which were notable in punk fashion. She later popularized the gothic style of dressing with her trademark makeup, feline eyes, deep red lipstick, spiky hair dyed black and black clothes. Her first appearance with Steven Severin was at the 100 Club Punk Festival, organized by Malcolm McLaren, in 1976. In 2002 she was ranked number seven female rock artist by Q magazine. In 2003 she was invited to compose and sing the title track from Basemant Jaxx's "Kish Kash" album: the album then received an award at the Grammy Awards. In 2008, she appeared on the soundtrack for The Edge of Love, by composer Angelo Badalamenti, collaborator with Director David Lynch, sang "Careless Love" and later also "Who Will Take My Dreams Away" at the World Soundtrack Awards. After a year of touring, she played her last show in London. The DVD "Finale: The Last Mantaray And More Show" was in 2009. Siouxsie, opened a new era for women in music. But she influenced many, like; The Slits, The Cure, Tricky, Massive Attack, Jeff Buckley, LCD Soundsystem, The Beta Band, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, DeVotchka, Arcade Fire, The Smiths, Radiohead, U2, Jane's Addiction, TV on the Radio, PJ Harvey, Garbage , Gossip, Scissor Sisters, Santigold, etc. Siouxsie's voice is unique. It's a distinct voice. Her technique is a common thread between two different things, opera and pop music. And everything about it is distinct and original! Siouxsie dresses head to toe with Art. She is all Art! Today at 63 years old (born in May 1957), she is still beautiful! You'll never see Siuoxsie, underdressed. She breathes Art, always!
