Dreams, Movie, Akira Kurosawa Transforms Dreams into Art and Myth. Director Akira Kurosawa originally aspired to be a painter. In Dream, Akira Kurosawa drew and painted, scene by scene, long before producing the Film. The Japanese are proud to have this Great Creator, taking his Work to the whole World. You will see throughout Eight episodes a treat for the eyes. The Movie speaks of the Japanese Myths Kamis (which encompasses everything. In Japanese mythology everything has a spirit or a deity that inhabits that body, gods, goddesses, spirits, deities, magical creatures, ancestral spirits, animal spirits etc). It would be the elementals, nature deities and daemons, gods and goddesses, etc. Not unlike Greek Mythology. Everything told, as if they were dreams. It's as if you go to an art exhibition, and appreciate one by one of the paintings. Film and Work, made with great care. You will see in Episode 5, inserted in the story, the last Work painted by Vincent Van Gogh "Wheat Field with Crows". The character enters the Canvas and walks through several Works by Van Gogh, with Akira Kurosawa recreating the landscapes of the Screen, where the character walks, wonderful to see, and has a conversation with the Painter. In another episode, you'll see the deities who take care of the cherry blossoms, a Spectacular Dance with Wonderful Costumes! In another episode you will see climbers descending to camp, in a heavy snowfall, and get lost, and the snowfall gets worse, until they fall asleep in the ice, by the delicate hands of the of the snow goddess. There are many more episodes. But I'm going to talk about another episode. "Village of the Waters". It's beautiful, we see the Japanese Culture, told by a man of over 100 years old, who teaches to respect the Cycle of Nature, and it is explained, methodically, why respect for Nature . The place where the story takes place is a special village. So, as I said, it's a delight for the eyes! It's Art in Motion! Enjoy "The Seventh Art", or better coming from Akira Kurosawa, enjoy this "Masterpiece"! (To read + Articles 2020, 2021 Click Article Archive above, Click the month, scroll down, just read!)
